Our philosophy:"Great music deserves perfect reproduction!"
Everything begins with music. We are surrounded by music, wherever we go and whatever we are doing. We listen to music inside our cars, whilst shopping, in the lift, or even at work. However, the specific occasions when we consciously take the time to relax and to listen closely are rare. For these precious moments, we choose carefully which music we are going to listen to and how we want it to sound. And as we depart from mainstream music, moving away from mass-consumption, we start to appreciate our individual preferences, enjoying the subtle quality and tonal differences. In order to satisfy the high demands of reproduction technology, we began to build our first loudspeakers in the 90s at the end of the last century. To be able to hear the unsophisticated sounds of great music at home - that was our ambition. In pursuit of our ambition, we have invested many years of effort in developing our Tocaro loudspeaker. The outcome, we believe, truly is unique. The unmistakable sound is a direct result of the method of construction, the same methods used in the construction of musical instruments. Each and every Tocaro loudspeaker is hand-crafted by us. The foundation of authenticity of these loudspeakers is the traditional and uncompromising technique of our cabinets. For these we solely use natural materials which require a long treating process for the membranes. Take your time and convince yourself of the veracity of our approach. You won´t want to settle for anything less. Please contact us to arrange a demonstration at an authorized Tocaro dealer.

Highest quality by using exclusive raw materials The use of exclusive raw materials are fundamental quality attributes for Tocaro loudspeakers. We use only pure cotton from controlled organic farming. Only carefully selected fibers, taken from inside the blossom, are used. Until the membrane is manufactured, the cotton has to pass through varying complicated stages of production. These involve carding, sorting, colouring and drying. In a specially developed manufacturing procedure the cellulose fibers are formed with the use of a high vacuum and the necessary stamps and die tools to attain the desired shape. We use the same care in selecting the different woods for the cabinets, baffle, stands, timber feather, tweeter and the 15-inch drive-unit basket. Stability and weight are important quality factors, comparable to an instrument.  We manufacture all adhesive and impregnation material, as well as the material for the treatment of the seam, in our own laboratory. This enables us to have a direct influence on the structural integrity of the vibrating elements and guarantees the longevity of our loudspeakers.

Highest quality by using exclusive raw materials
The Membrane The membrane is an essential element of the Tocaro sound. Following a special initial treatment, the cellulose fibers, which are pure cotton, are hand-formed and pressed. Thus a very light and porous molded paper cone can be formed. Through a unique impregnation procedure, lasting several weeks, the very solid and low-resonance Tocaro membrane is created. In combination with the timber feather, it is the basis for a filter-free drive of the different loudspeaker membranes.
The main components for our loudspeakers
The Ventilation To make the deep tones easily audible, it is very important that the drive unit membrane can move freely inside the cabinet. This requires a ventilation port, which is made out of a stable beech plywood tunnel at Tocaro. In this way, we avoid unwanted undertones and achieve optimal bass lines.
The Tweeter The basis of the tweeter is the timber feather. It enabled us to build a drive-unit which mainly reproduces very clear high-tones without a frequency crossover. Here too, hardwood is ground to the required dimensions, cross-ply laminated and laser cut using a CO2 laser. The tweeter has got the same drive (coil magnet) as the 10-inch- and 15-inch-driver. This tweeter fits perfectly with the sonic performance of all our other drive units. It produces a wonderful homogenous music reproduction.
The Timber Feather The manufacturing process of a timber feather is very complex, time consuming and labour intensive. Five layers of hardwood have to be ground by hand, to a thickness of two hundredths of a millimeter, in order to produce one timber feather. After that, they get cross-bonded and are once again ground to the final required dimension. Then a CO2 laser is used to cut exactly the required contours. The finished timber feather now perfectly aligns the membrane neck and voice coil. It controls the drive unit movement by providing a permanent resistive counter pressure, whilst avoiding material fatigue.
The 15-Inch Drive Unit with wooden basket The manufacturing process of the 15-inch membranes is virtually identical to that of the 10-inch-membranes but, due to its size, is much more complex. In order to reproduce enough high tones, it was vitally important to have an exact thickness of 0.4mm over the entire surface of the membrane. This complete assembly of membrane and timber feather is suspended in a solid wooden basket. The control of the inward and outward movement of the membrane is much better, using the bespoke wooden basket, rather than with a 15-inch variant of the aluminium die-cast basket used in the 10-inch drive-unit. Nevertheless, the tremendous effort was worth it: the sound is very open, precise and clear – a very special musical treat!
The Cabinet The cabinets consist of cross-bonded plies of beech and birch. A very high stability is necessary to keep any resonances brief within the cabinet. The precisely manufactured tongue and groove joint and also the mortised stands made of solid beech construction guarantee this high stability. Cabinets made with this technique reach a higher dynamic and an optimal wide-angle dispersion.

Quality, sound and passionLiving the difference
30 The Tocaro 30 has got the identical 8-inch drive unit as the Tocaro 25 and this membrane is also impregnated with a special process. The difference is in the cabinet technology. The cabinets consist of cross-bonded beech and birch wood, just like the bigger models. The precisely manufactured tongue and groove joints guarantee high stability, as do the mortised stands of solid beech construction. Both loudspeakers, the Tocaro 25 and Tocaro 30, work with a 1-inch voice coil made from capton. The insulating material, which avoids reflections, is extremely porous and accurately dimensioned. No electrical filter is necessary due to the high rigidity and low mass of the membrane. This results in a perfectly timed and dynamically precise reproduction. Specifications:Power Handling: 30 Watt, 8 Ohm Sensivity: 94 dB Broadband loudspeaker which  works filter free Measure loudspeaker: height 41,5 cm, width 29,5 cm, depth 24,5 cmMeasure stands: height 55,5 cm, width 29,5 cm, depth 24,5 cmColours: natur, mahogany, dark brown,  black, white
40 e The Tocaro 40e consists of an 8-inch drive-unit with a membrane constructed from handmade cotton fibres. A complex impregnation process results in a long-term stable cellulose-compound. Seam and membrane are built out of one piece, not needing adhesive bond. The timber feather, made of special hardwood, aligns the membrane neck and voice coil. It controls decisively the drive pulse through static fixed coupling and rigidity. It is ready to lead low and high frequencies very clearly. The cabinets are of cross-bonded beech and birch construction and are furnished with special millings. The stands are also of solid beech construction and provide a stable connected platform. Specifications:Power Handling: 40 Watt, 8 Ohm Sensivity: 97 dB Broadband loudspeaker which  works filter free Measure loudspeaker: height 44 cm, width 32,5 cm, depth 26 cm Measure stands: height 59 cm, width 32,5 cm, depth 26 cm Colours: natur, mahogany, dark brown,  black, white

42 e The Tocaro 42e combines two different drive-unit designs. On the one hand, the 10-inch drive-unit, with a membrane made from long-term stable cellulose-compound, which is controlled by a timber feather, just like the Tocaro 40e; on the other hand, the wooden tweeter, operating filter-free, whose membrane is of similar structure and construction to the timber feather. As both loudspeakers work without a filter, we achieve a very homogenous and dynamic musical presentation through phase-correct reproduction. Each drive-unit has its own dedicated speaker sockets at the back of the cabinet, to allow for both bi-wiring and single, or bi-amplification. The cabinets are of cross-bonded beech and birch construction. However, they are bigger than the Tocaro 40e, due to the additional tweeter. This enables a deeper coordinated cabinet resonance for the 10-inch main drive-unit. Consequently, it offers a wide range of tonal variation. The stands are also of massive beech construction. 45 e The Tocaro 45e utilizes two 10-inch drive-units and the 5-inch tweeter. The membranes of these 10-inch drive-units are made from long-term stable cellulose-compound for which we use only our handmade material. This is also the basis for the Tocaro 40e series and the Tocaro 50e, as the sturdy aluminium die-cast basket and a powerful magnetization (1.3 Gauss) of the air gap. The timber feather suspension is employed again in the Tocaro 45e. The cabinets consist of an external and an internal chamber, so that both 10-inch drivers have got separated chambers. Each drive-unit has its own dedicated speaker sockets at the back of the cabinet, to allow for tri-wiring and single, bi, or even tri-amplification. They are made of cross-bonded beech and birch construction and the stands are also of solid beech construction. 50 e The Tocaro 50e is the culmination of all the knowledge and experience we have gained from all the lessons learned during the development and production of the Tocaro 40e series range of loudspeakers. In our efforts to provide the most authentic music reproduction, this new 15-inch drive-unit was created. The membrane is handcrafted in our own factory and its stability is achieved by the use of our unique impregnation system. The 15-inch-speaker is driven by a 1-inch voice coil and the timber feather. A precisely balanced spring-force-system and the specially produced basket of solid wood construction, allows this loudspeaker to work without an electric filter, a prerequisite of the Tocaro philosophy. This revolutionary new drive-unit, in conjunction with the two 10-inch drive-units and the 5-inch tweeter, combines to produce a really impressive sound. Although larger, the cabinet, of beech and birch construction, is built like a Tocaro 45e, i.e. we couple an additional internal chamber with the front baffle of the loudspeaker. In doing so, we avoid intermediate layers and thereby allow the outer casing to resonate freely, in a comparable way to a large musical instrument.
